Team Entry, Payments & Additional Costs
To secure your spot at The Edinburgh Cup, it is essential for all teams to promptly complete the registration process and submit the required entry fee. The timestamp of your registration will be recorded from the day we receive your registration fee. However, please note that team approval is not automatic; a confirmation email will be sent upon team approval. If your team is placed on the standby list, it indicates either full subscription in the age group or ongoing assessment of your registration by our team.
In the event that you choose to withdraw your team for ANY reason after approval and payment of the registration fee, the fee is non-refundable (although a credit may be considered in specific cases). If The Edinburgh Cup does NOT approve your team or you withdraw at any point after being placed on the standby list, a refund (minus a 3.9% transaction fee) will be subject to deduction.
All attendees at Peffermill Sports Village, excluding players, coaches, and children aged 15 and below, are required to acquire a spectator pass (please check the website for specifics). This fee may cover entry to the venue and complimentary admission to all onsite entertainment activities for the day, or it may solely cover entry (please be aware that this is subject to change). Kindly note that the fee contributes to supporting various exciting initiatives, including the foundation; for further information, please refer to the website.
Each participating team is allowed a limited number of team leaders/officials. However, considering child protection, there is a cap on the number of leaders/officials permitted per team at the Peffermill Sports Village Venue. Details can be accessed on our website.
By registering a team(s) for The Edinburgh Cup, all team leaders agree to an agreement wherein our "service" includes access to our online portal and active participation in the event.
Accommodation Fees Clause:
Teams participating in the BU13-BU16 and GU14-GU16 age categories, located 60 miles or more from the event venue or residing outside Scotland, are mandated to stay in official accommodation. Teams selecting non-official lodging will incur an extra fee of £360 per team, payable to The Edinburgh Cup. Furthermore, teams choosing to directly approach an approved accommodation partner and opt to stay will result in the cancellation of their registration. Failure to comply with any of the above requirements will breach entry conditions, leading to potential withdrawal from the event. If you opt for daily commuting over official accommodation, formal approval must be sought from The Edinburgh Cup.
Spectator ETicket
A modest fee of £9.50 is set for spectators aged 16 and above (Players and children under the age of 16 and coaches enter for FREE). Please note this is only those that enter Peffermill Sports Village, all other venues are free to enter.
The above amount not only grants entry to the event but also serves as a contribution towards supporting a large number of diverse initiatives such as accessing all entertainment activities including gaming zone, inflatables and face painting. Please check our website for more details.
Tournament Cancellation and Force Majeure:
In the event that The Edinburgh Cup cannot proceed or is postponed due to circumstances beyond the control of the organisers (force majeure) or incidents not attributable to deliberate intent or severe negligence by the organisers, they cannot be held accountable for damages, expenses, or losses incurred by delegations. This includes transportation, accommodation, supplementary orders, financial losses, etc. Under such conditions, the organisers retain the right to either retain the complete registration/accommodation fee for a future tournament or refund the delegations after subtracting costs already expended on organizing the tournament that could not be recovered from third parties.
The Edinburgh Cup assumes no responsibility for injuries or economic losses resulting from war, warlike events, civil war, revolution, civil disturbances, actions by authorities, as well as strikes, lockouts, blockades, or similar incidents.
Finally, it's crucial to be aware that anticipated construction work at Peffermill Sports Village may temporarily render certain areas inaccessible. Consequently, some teams in specific age groups may be reduced in number, potentially leading to refunds and exclusion from the event. Please note that the order of removal is likely to follow the sequence of registration, pending confirmation.
